Award-winning musician based in Paris, saxophonist, woodwind player, and composer Christophe Panzani is a founding member of Thiefs, The Drops, The Watershed, and Dalvaard. He can also be heard with Anne Paceo, Florian Pellissier Quintet, Matthis Pascaud & Hugh Coltman and, of course, Ziv Ravitz. He has also been involved in collaborations with 20syl and Yael Naim.
Born in Beer-Sheva, Israel, to a family of musicians, Ziv Ravitz was drawn to music at an early age. He began his professional career playing drums at various clubs in Beer-Sheva and Tel Aviv, gaining experience in a variety of musical styles, including jazz, rock, and avant-garde music. After moving to the United States, he expanded his musical horizons and developed as a jazz composer, performing and recording with numerous ensembles, both as a freelancer and as a bandleader presenting his own compositions, which reflect his distinctive musical voice. Following his graduation from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Jazz Composition, Ziv became a member of the Lee Konitz Quartet, the Shai Maestro Trio, the Omer Klein Trio, the Avishai Cohen Quartet, the Omer Avital Quintet, and various Yaron Herman projects. He has also performed with musicians such as Hal Crook, Joel Frahm, Joe Lovano, Tomasz Stańko, Eli Degibri, Ralph Alessi, George Garzone, Ben Monder, Aaron Goldberg, Aaron Parks, Donny McCaslin, Jason Lindner, Esperanza Spalding, Greg Osby, Mark Turner, and many others.
In addition to his work as a performer, Ziv has participated in prestigious mentoring and educational programs such as the Montreux Jazz Academy and the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy, and he is a member of the faculty at the Siena Jazz Masters Program.
