Internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist and composer Viktorija Pilatovic announces the release of her fifth album, Seven Letters — a deeply personal collection of musical letters written to the world.
“Whenever I write, I’m speaking to someone,” says Pilatovic. “Sometimes it’s myself, sometimes a loved one, a memory, even a fleeting thought. These dialogues are intimate, yet universal — because we all speak to something or someone in our inner worlds every day.”
Each of the seven letters unfolds through music first, with lyrics crystallizing as reflections around the sound. With liner notes by Ganavya in the limited CD and vinyl editions, Seven Letters offers listeners an immersive journey into Pilatovic’s compositional and emotional universe. The album features an exceptional lineup of collaborators:
Perico Sambeat — on a ballad dedicated to Pilatovic’s mother
Petros Klampanis — double bassist and co-producer
Albert Palau — long-time pianist and collaborator
Quique Ramirez — on drums
Drawing from contemporary jazz, Brazilian, Mediterranean, and classical influences, Pilatovic describes her music as “instrumental jazz with lyrics” — where voice and instruments share equal weight in telling the story.
Beyond its sound, Seven Letters embodies a strong visual identity: Pilatovic’s handwritten lyrics, cover art by Pepa Catalá Fombuena, and three evocative videos by Isaac Martin. Together, these elements transform the project into more than just an album — a personal archive, a shared diary, and an invitation to listen closely.
