ABOUT
Climate Change is a visionary musical collective that brings together four internationally acclaimed musicians from diverse musical backgrounds: Christos Hatzis (composer), Christos Rafalides (vibraphone), Petros Klampanis (bass), and Antonis Sousamoglou (violin). Formed with the goal of creating a unique fusion of jazz, classical, and world music, Climate Change transcends genres to address both artistic and global concerns, with a particular focus on the urgent themes of climate change—both environmental and cultural.
Their debut album, Vanishing Point, showcases intricate compositions and improvisations that reflect the fragility of our world while offering hope for unity through creativity. The album also features virtuosic performances from a string quartet of top soloists from the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra: Antonis Sousamoglou (violin), David Bogorad (violin), Athanasios Sourgounis (viola), and Vassilis Saitis (cello), whose dynamic playing adds depth and richness to the project’s already intricate arrangements.
Climate Change is more than a musical endeavor—it’s a call for convergence, a reminder of the power of collaboration in a time of global crises. Through their music, the group explores the intersection of sound, urgency, and hope, encouraging listeners to reflect on the world’s future while enjoying a compelling and sophisticated sonic journey.
